Screen resolution. Small screen. Dell inspiron 1100

I have recently installed Fedora Core 3 on my Dell Inspiron 1100. The latop has a 1024x768 screen. Have edited the xorg.conf file to display at 1024x768. The problem is that the laptop is displaying 1024x768 in a little 640x480 screen. I go to preferences to adjust resolution and the only option available to me is 640x480 and 0 for refresh rate. Can someone please help me? Maybe display a xorg.conf to make it work or tell me how to adjust the preferences. I appreciate the help greatly. bedehaan@hotmail.com

I tried all solutions on the given website. Nothing worked. When the laptop is loading I have edited Grub so it displays at 1024x768 but when Fedora loads everything goes to the 640x480. I have Intel 845 graphics. Can someone who has a Inspiron 1100 running Fedora core 3 please upload a xorg.conf file for. Much appreciated.

In regards to the above posts. When I edited GRUB, I put on the kernal line "vga=773". Would I have to manipulate the xorg.conf file with this statement also?
