VIA UniChrome drivers problem

Hi everyone!
Im semi-new to linux, we run unix in school and I have one machine that runs Linux, but when I instaleld Linux on my aspire 1360 laptop I can't get the graphics drivers to work.

The graphics are Via Integrated UniChrome™ Pro IGP with up to 64 MB of shared video RAM supporting both 8X AGP.
The drivers I chose to try installing are located at:

I download the binary installations, try installing them, everything works fine, i run viafb-install.sh, the file copies itself to: /lib/modules/2.6.11-1.1369_FC4/kernel/drivers/video/viafb.ko correctly.

BUT, here comes the problem, if i try doing
#modprobe viafb
My screen goes blank, and nothing happens, I have also tried locating the via driver in the display-drivers in the integrated "display" function in fedora, the machine located it once, I tried to activate it, but xWindows complained and couldn't start it.

Any suggestions, I'm really stuck here :-/

These are the different occassions I've tried
#modprobe viafb
the times where it says "switching to colour frame buffer device 80x30" I only typed in:
#modprobe viafb

The other times I've tried giving it different modes like 1280x768, 1024x768 and different color settings
Also, after I reboot my laptop after the screen goes blank, in the detailed startup information it says it cant find some via drivers, and apparently loads the default VESA drivers.

Anyone out there that has any suggestion?

The vesa drivers work on my Everex Stepnote that has the same video chipset. I'm running FC5 and chose a generic 1280x800 LCD.

Hope that helps... very late, but who knows... Someone might be reading this next year and have luck.
