mplayer and flash plugins not playing sound in firefox

When i open something in firefox using the mplayer plugin or the flash plugin it wont play anysound. Does anybody know how i could overcome this problem.

I also had no sound in the firefox flash plugin. Here is what I did and it worked for me. Open your terminal and su then cd /usr/lib/firefox-1.0.7/plugins. Do a ls and see if there is plugin that has something like libnull in it. If so remove it and you should have sound. Sorry I cant remember the full name of the null plugin but you should recognize it. Hope that solves your problem
