Eclipse wont load :( help!
Long story (skip to short story if you so please):

So i have had eclipse installed and working fine previously on my computer (Fedora core 4) Then i needed to install gild workspace ( gild.cs.uvic.ca ). i had a little trouble installing gild but eventually i figgured it out. I made such a mess of everything that i decided to wipe eclipse off my machine and reinstall a fresh copy to work with....


Short story enters here:

After freshly installing eclipse (and not yet gild), eclipse will not start. during the splash screen for loading, the program halts and gives me an error message that says where to find the error log.

please and thanks for any help.

What worked for me...
I found this post in searching for an answer to the same issue, albeit on a Gentoo box. I cleared out the .eclipse folder in my home dir, and eclipse started up.

It was this thread (in reference to the same issue on a windows box) that led me in this direction: http://groups.google.com/group/comp....6352e2750db36c

I had same prob. I just installed all the eclipse* development RPMS and it worked...

I have very similar problem
I have installed eclipse groupinstall and eclipse-platform-sdk and eclipse-sdk, but still, eclipse will not start.
Can anybody please help me
