Newbie to FC4 (PARTITIONING MULTIPLE HARD DRIVES)

Hello All,

I have never posted to this forum, but am hoping that someone will be able to assist me with my current issue. I have a (Intel Server board S875WPA-E). On-board Promise* Technology SATA150TX4 4-Port Serial ATA RAID controller (PDC20319). I purchased this board with the intentions of have a RAID 0+1 configuration, but realized how stupid it was to have a personal server with 800 gig of available space. Needless to say I only purchased 2 x 200 gig hard drives and am wondering how to partition these drives and install FC4 as a server and not have the RAID controller yell at me for not having a defined array?

I have set this up as stripped and that did not work...Can anyone be of assistance?

Thanks,

Shawn a.k.a Bio32nicle

Your TX4 isn't a hardware RAID controller: http://linux.yyz.us/sata/faq-sata-raid.html#tx4
Don't setup striping or any other kind of "RAID" in the BIOS, just use the controller as a regular SATA controller and and use Linux native software RAID setup in the Fedora installer.

Thanks for the response, but how do you do what you have recommended? Is there a tutorial available anywhere that I could reference or could you assist with some instructions?

Thanks,
