KDE 3.5, when will Fedora see it

I was wondering when Fedora will get KDE 3.5. Will FC4 upgrade to it or is this a FC5 thing?

Its high likely that the Fedora crew will wait till FC5 to give its users KDE 3.5 - A crippled ugly looking KDE as usual. Get your hands on the KDE provided by kde-redhat. Visit http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/ for more info

Funny, I see KDE as MUCH nicer, easier, more functional and prettier than any other WM. To each his own...

mebrelith's point was that kde-redhat.sourceforge.net produces a KDE distribution for Fedora that is closer to the spirit of the kde.org original than that provided by RedHat/Fedora. From the notes on their site's mailing lists, 3.5-RC1 is being tested now and is in their unstable repository. If there aren't any major hangups, I wouldn't be surprised to see it available on FC4 from them before FC5 is released as a final. I doubt that RedHat/Fedora will release 3.5 for FC4.

From the kde-redhat.sourceforge.net kde-redhat-announce mailing list...

2005-12-01 08:58

kde-3.5.0 packages (for rh9, fc3, fc4, el3, el4) are now available in
the kde-redhat "testing" repo.

Enjoy.

This is a 'testing' repository and not a 'stable' repository so don't be surprised or upset if there are some bugs - but for the more adventurous...
