Hey everybody. This has been posted by others but no resolution has been found so i decided to start a new thread. I'm trying to use a program called BitPim. It installs just fine and will rum just fine initially. After a day passes, however, and i try to run it again i get the following output;
[bart@localhost ~]$ bitpim
zipimport.ZipImportError: not a Zip file: '/usr/lib/bitpim-0.8.01/bp'
Fatal Python error: cannot get zipimporter instance
Aborted
[bart@localhost ~]$
Another person having the same problem got the following response from one of the dev team members;
"You can thank your operating system for this. Every evening it runs a
task that goes around stripping files. In this bp is an ELF binary
with a zip file appended. The automated strip processes is removing
the zip file.
I suggest finding the cron job that does this and stop it. (No, I don't
know what it is exactly as I don't run Fedora). "
So, does anybody know which program might be doing this and how i can stop it. BitPim is a great program for up and downloading contact and calender data from cell phones and i just can't believe there is no way to use it in fedora. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
