Installation problem for noob

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and soon to be new to FC4. I installed FC4 earlier and re-booted after installation. It started booting fine, however, after the point of freeing the unused kernel memory it stopped. I received this message in the boot sequence:

warning: unable to open an initial console
kernel panic - not synching no init found. Try passing init = option to kernel.

But I could do nothing, except shutdown and boot into Windows to write this.

Please, any help will be appreciated

Did installation by chance end prematurely?

No, that was the strange thing. I had problems the first time with that, so I checked all 4 discs and they passed. Could or does this maybe have anything to do with where I assigned GRUB to boot. I had 2 choices MAIN BOOT SECTOR or the sector that Fedora is on.
