disable services at booting

Dear List:

I am currently using my FC4 laptop on a home wireless network but every time I boot my machine the system spend a lot of time trying to bring up the Eth0 interface. I want to remove this service so that my laptop start up faster but I want to be able to start up this service back if I need it. Also I want to remove from the booting sequence the hsf sofmodem service that I am no longer using.

Disable network service.

Can this create any problem with my wireless card?

Edit the network configuration and uncheck the box:[Start at boot] for eth0.
