Fedora 4 Installation

Hi,
My system hang when I reached the screen to confirm the key board (U.S. English).
This happened when I hit 'Next', they mouse and the key board just freezed.
I rebooted and this time, I tried seleting U.S. International, the same thing happened.
Any clue as to why this happened??

Appreciate your help.

Thanks and regards,

We have as much clues as you've given us... but what you can do is press alt+shift+F1, F2, F3 up to F6 to see other error messages.

During the installation, F1 - F6 serve as consoles for different jobs, most of them give status on whats going on. Error messages in those may be able to help you or help us help you.

I tried your method but was unable to do so as the key board is freezed.
Any good suggestions?
FYI, I am using Microsoft's Multimedia keyboard.

Hi Firewing1,

Your 'do so before the keyboard freezes', do you meant by performing the "alt+shift+F1, F2, F3 up to F6 to see other error messages" just before I select the keyboard type?
Your clarification please.

Maybe I should try switching to another keyboard.

Mouse & Keyboard Freeze

I ran into the same problem. The keyboard and mouse would stop responding (after I installed FC4). Go into the BIOS settings and disable USB keyboard/mouse. This fixed my problem

Hi Partha,
I actually installed Fedora 4 onto another PC of mine and this time, it was successful, without any keyboard or mouse freeze.
Now I am enjoying my new OS, but sad to say, there is no sound, any idea?
