HOWTO - Setup the SSH server to use keys for authentication

I know that this topic is not anything new. This article is a summary of all I've read about using private/public key authentication on an ssh server. It covers the following:

• DSA keypair generation
• server configuration to only allow user authentication with keys
• hashing the known_hosts file, change the passphrase
• ssh-agent setup and management of the cached passphrases using ssh-add

I can add to it if you like. We set up ssh authentication for all our servers, but we store the user/group and keys in ldap.
It is pretty cool, because then you only need to make ldap changes to add / remove users on all of your machines.

That would be nice! But I think you should really consider releasing an article about SSH & LDAP to a better place than my web page, as this just serves as a place that I put all my notes together... Nothing special :-)

Doing so, a lot more people could benefit from your article, including me.
