Vsftp

I have set up VSFTPD on FC4. I can FTP fine locally in user directories. I can upload and download. However, if I ftp remotely I cannot download, but I can upload. Can anyone tell me how to set it up so that I can download remotely.

If you can post your vsftpd.conf file, that would help.

Firewall?
Configure iptables to let port 21 through. (Search the forum for how to do this)

Looks like it was down to the chmod settings on the files. Its downloading now, but is disconnecting after a while. I've set the timeout's to 600 seconds, doesn anyone know how to set the timeout to unlimited. If I set it to 0 will it be unlimited?
