How on earth do you handle and update 9 blogs at one go?! That aside, go easy on the colours and schemes. Improved readability over eye-soothing backgrounds are very important to captivate readers to want to come back for more.

You should merge all your blogs into one main one. Then split the posts up by different topic groups.
