From the error log, it seems like your problem is with LDAP. Are you sure you are using an LDAP server to authenticate your users? This is either an LDAP misconfiguration error or you are incorrectly trying to authenticate against LDAP. Remember that LDAP expects usernames in a slightly different format. You can test your ldapconnectivity with something like this:

ldapwhoami -x -D "cn=julie,dc=YOURDOMAIN,dc=com" -W

You will have to replace YOURDOMAIN. Also, your LDAP might be set up with a different structure.

The other thing is... I didn't think that qmail did webmail directly. What webmail package are you using? There's a good change you have just misconfigured it to use LDAP.

Thanks a lot!!!

I am using SquirrelMail 1.4.5
I've tried to test my connectivity here's what I've got.

[root@link555 ~]# ldapwhoami -x -D "cn=julie,dc=link555,dc=com" -W
Enter LDAP Password:
ldap_bind: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)
[root@link555 ~]#

I think, I just need to play with it little bit longer and try different configurations.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help.

Try this command
setsebool httpd_can_network_connect=1

if it works, its SELinux interfering with the process
