powersave on text console don't work with lcd

Hi,
I'm trying to use powersave on text console with settterm but it won't work.

I tryed several combination with the setterm command (-powersave vsync, -powersave hsync, -powersave powerdown and -blank) but only the "blank" feature works well. The monitor never goes in standby

I use an LCD Monitor with a DVI connection.

With XscrennSaver instead i'm able to correctly use powersave function so i'm sure that monitor and graphics card are "powersave capable".

What can I try ?
