How can I start tomcat server?

to startup
<tomcat home>/bin/startup.sh

to shutdown
<tomcat home>/bin/shutdown.sh

Do a "system-config-services" as root, tick the checkbox for tomcat5 and hit save. (Do it for runlevels 5 and 3.)
