Exclamation how to make local yum and apt repositoires?

hi,
i want to make local yum and apt repositoreis can any one help me please?

yum localupdate *.rpm

to install :
yum localinstall *.rpm

i use createrepo - very easy.
yum install createrepo
put RPMS into a dir, and type this:
createrepo /path/do/dir/containing/RPMS

thanks for the reply, when i am runing the createrepo withe correct path to the rpms this is the error:
Error opening package - alsa-utils_1.0.9rfa-1.rhfc4.ccrma_i386.rpm
Error opening package - bind-sdb_24%3a9.3.1-8.FC4_i386.rpm
Error opening package - grep_2.5.1-48.2_i386.rpm
Error opening package - krb5-libs_1.4.1-5_i386.rpm
Error opening package - audit-libs-devel_0.9.19-1.FC4_i386.rpm
Error opening package - arts-devel_8%3a1.4.1-0.fc4.1_i386.rpm

yeah i had a couple like that too... I'm not sure why, but it did that. Check to make aure they all have erad and exec perms set and if that doesn't work, do what i did: Repackage. Open the RPMS with file-roller, make you own .spec file and re-package them.

i find the best way to do it is rsync the repo, then update from that local yum repo.

makes more sense than making a local repo from your yum cache (as it also downloads stuff you haven't installed yet - of course you may see that as a waste of bandwidth too.....)
