X11 crashes after last update

Hi,
I'm running FC3 with Gnome on a laptop. Yesterday I installed the fresh X11 updates with Up2date. After rebooting the screen appears all scrambled. Is there any way I can remove the last version of X11 packets -other than reinstalling everything? And if I can't, how can I save the contents of my home folder to a CD without the graphics environment?
Please help me!

This is a known bug. I reinstalled FC4 and when updating do a "yum --exclude xorg* update" as root. You may also be able to downgrade your xorg stuff. See this thread.

A bug fix test release of the xorg files has just been posted here. Save all the files from http://people.redhat.com/krh/xorg-x11/fc4/ to ~/temp, do a "cd temp" and a "sudo rpm -Uvh *", and reboot.

I did that update too, but everything works fine except that my desktop's like slow or something. Is this the same issue? I haven't installed the fix rpm-s yet.
