How to disable RHN/up2date startup icon?

Since pretty much this is completely useless in Core 4, unless you want to allocate memory for programs that just sit there, this should be disabled (you can always start up2date with the comand or from its launcher icon). However I searched all over the place to the entry which launches the freaking program, but been unable to disable this from staring when I load GNOME. I've looked in gconf-editor, under preferences-->more preferences-->sessions, and this seems to be the most likely place to disable this. This program writes its configuration to the .gnome2/session-manual file. But this only contains those programs that I set to start at GNOME load (like nvidia-settings --load-config-only, or gkrellm). Still I'm sure there should be some way to disable this program somehwere in these files, but which? I certainly love my GNOME session, but I don't want the RHN icon to load each time start my session.

The files .rhn-applet.conf and .rhn-applet.cache don't seem to have a valid configuration to stop rhn-applet from loading. The only other thing that I can think of to stop this program from loading is to completely remove the rhn-applet package, but I would rather see if it could be disabled (though removing the package altogether is easier), since some people I share the system with, do like the icon (dunno what they think when they see the blue check mark )

Anyway, TIA.

Right click and quit the applet and save the session in the preferences menu or run gnome-session-save comand in run dialog box (alt+f2). Dont run it from the terminal, otherwise it will get launched on every session.

Right on! Thanks for the tip. Been wanting to rid myself of that pesky little thing for a while now.
