D-Link Ai r Plus card driver? FC4

Hello,

I posted this under hardware, but maybe this is more appropriate for Networking. I've loaded FC4 on a Dell Optiplex GX60 and I have a D-Link PCI 802.1g card installed. I looked in Network, but there is no driver listed for this device. Does anyone know of a generic wireless driver that might work with a D-Link Air Plus card, model DWL-G510?

I have FC4 on a Compaq 4410US and the same wireless D-Link(DWL-G510) card installed. I used the drivers (the .inf and .sys filles) from the CD that came with the card. I was able to install the driver with the help of the ndiswrapper program you can find it at "

http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/ "

along with directions for the use of it at

http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho...dlink+dwl-g510

the only difference is the the name of the .inf and .sys file everything was going smooth until i my system rebooted and now everytime I try to load FC4 it stops when it gets to checking for network and reboots all over again. I heard that there may be a problem with .conf files under the ndiswrapper directory and the short-named .conf file is pointing to the wrong long-named .conf. Does anyone know how to fix this problem i have been stuff at this point for 2 days?

Thank you for the links. I may try using NDIS, but it sounds like it hasn't worked all that well for you.
