Problem playing audio cd's

[Linux Noob]

When i put in an audio CD in my DVD player It detects the cd and I can click it in My Computer. Then it starts the cd playing program but it says cd player error when it's loaded..

I'm still testing the thing with diffirend cd's but It reads an DVD (Data)
without any problems..

I've also put in antother CD-player but that wouldt play the cd's as well

So anyone knows what might be wrong??
(I'm using the linux version that came with the dvd Linux for dummies 6th edition)
