upgrade glibc

hi,

i am trying to upgrade from glibc-2.3.5-10 to 2.3.90-11 on my fc4 (2.6.11-1.1369_FC4, gcc 4.0.0).

can anyone tell me the correct procedure for the same(have already got my system crashed once) .

i need this upgrade to run svgalib-1.9.21 which requires libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4) which is present in the above package.
i somebody ha got better way getting started with svga,pls tell me.

Merely run

yum install svgalib

and it should take care of the versions for you. See this. (Although you don't have to add any repos, what you need is in Fedora Extras.)
