I was able to log in without problem as I usually do, and the keyboard was fine. Suddenly, as I type at the command line, nothing happens. This happens with every application that I try to type in. I can type forever, but nothing happens. If I log out, I can type to log back in, but then I can't type again when I open up an application. Just to further complicate things, I logged out of KDE and logged back in under GNOME, and the keyboard works just fine. This is a Dell Precision 470 running FC3.
Below is output from /var/log/messages:
Sep 6 09:13:39 slapshot kernel: usb 5-1: USB disconnect, address 3

And more of the same. The USB disconnect is from me unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in. What is going on here?
