http://isc.sans.org/diary.php

Internet Storm Centre is asking for Network Engineers,SysAdmins and Information Security specialists to volunteer to help the Red Cross set up Internet Information Kiosks in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Please read the post on ISC if you think you have the relevant skills.

Strange way to do business.

Looks like a perfect fraud site.

Even has the left handed anti intention phrase.
"Katrina fraud continues." Why would they even say that?
The personal info goes to a site called isc.org (Yeesh!)

If this is not a fraud then the site desiger needs a long vist to the desert.

Do you even know who SANS are? Perhaps you should check here and more especially, here.

I will not comment on the validity of the request or the site, although it does appear to be a legitimate site and request. If the RedCross needed such help they would/should request it through normal channels.

If you wish to volunteer for the RedCross...CALL the REDCROSS! (1-800-help now) or visit their site http://www.redcross.org/ or http://www.stormaid.com/cc-common/CC...mpaignID=98936
or check this one:
http://www.stormaid.com/main.html
In Texas you can call 211 to reach the HHSC/United Way hotline for donations/help/request for help etc...

San Antonio is providing shelter and help for up to 25,000 refugees right now, so I feel I may be a little closer to the problem then others...BTW : I work for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission(HHSC) I think my sources are pretty reliable.
