Cant install Linux on SATA HDD Asus k8S MX combo

Linux doesnt detect my SATA HDD on installation. I have AMD 64 bit 2800+ and ASUS K8S MX motherboard.

On googling i found tht sis dint hv a SATA driver for linux. And so it doesnt recognise my SATA HDD. But, recently they have released their SATA driver for linux.

My problem is that i cant figure out how to make a driver disk. Once a driver disk is made, one can probably use linux dd to specify the SATA driver and the job wud be done.

I am a newbie and know nothing abt driver disk.. Can someone help me figure out how to make the driver disk. I tried googling but cudnt find a useful explaination.

Thnks in advance

Mohit
