does ibookG3-modem work on FC4 out of the box?

Thanks guys for helping out. Anyways, I've been wanting to move to FC4 from my panther but not sure if modem will work on FC4?

Also is there any gain in performance if moving from panther 10.3.9 to FC4?

My hardware is as follows:
650mhz ibook G3 (oc'd 500mhz ibook)
640MB RAM

thanks again.

Frith

I definitely believe there is a gain in graphical performance (part of the reason OS X seems so sluggish on those 500 mhz iBooks). I don't know if I would specifically want to run FC4 with the overclocked CPU (I've noticed that with FC4 that I recently installed, and with YDL as well, that the iBook tends to run a little hotter than I'm used to, or maybe I'm just being paranoid)

The modem *should* work, atleast in FC3. In theory the drivers are available to get it to work in FC4. The drivers are proprietary and are based on a set that was released by linuxant.com. I Haven't been able to get their script to install them to actually work!

So I would say modem is a resounding no with FC4 unless I'm doing something stupid.
