I sometimes have this happen when logging out. What versions of Fedora and KDE do you run?

the kde version came with installation dvd
the kde works very instable and gives errors and now i am not able to open console window also.now i have invoked up2date for kde base.
this is a problem i have seen in test versions of fc4
after this download completes in another 1/2 hr i will try in gnome desktop.
there is no wonder people prefer windows.

Well, Fedora isn't really made for stability as much as it is for flexibility. Changing the Windowmanager in Windows (to something like LiteStep) is much more involved than in Linux. If you're looking for ease-of-use, a tried-and-true distro like RHEL or SuSE is probably best.
