mplayerplug-in mime types

I am trying to get the new mplayer plugin to work. The problem is firefox does not recognize the plugin will play quicktime "mov" clips. The plugin works great with "MPEG" clips.

When I do an "about plugins" I do not see a registered mime type for quicktime. Mplayer plays all types so I know the codecs are correct.

My question is how do I add it?

Did you get the new v3.05 one? I have no problems with this one. Get it here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=347117

I had similar problems when I installed the one from the repos.

PS: I got this info from the Fedora Weekly News ( http://fedoranews.org/wiki/Fedora_We...s_Latest_Issue )

Changing MPlayer MIME types

All,

Thanks for the help. Installing from sourceforge.net fixed the problem. Now I'm confused ... What I expected to see was a change in the mplayerplug-in.types file showing quicktime MIME entries. But the file is the same as before.

My question is how does the plug-in know what MIME types to play. I see in another post someone is having trouble with Mplayer attempting to play RealPlayer media.

Anyone know the answer?

Thanks ...
