I have FC3 on one partition which I've been using for some time now. I have firefox and evolution set up and that's basically all I have "customized" on that installation. I would like to upgrade to FC4 but have read that it's best to back everything up and do a clean install of 4 instead of upgrading FC3 to FC4.
I have another partition already running FC4 and I am trying to get all the settings from FC3's Evolution into FC4's Evolution. I've gotten all my mail and address book to migrate (I copied /home/admin/.evolution and /home/admin/.gconf/apps/evolution from FC3 into my FC4 installation.) But I am still unable to get the "preferences" to transfer. It's not a huge deal as I can easily re-customize the settings and add the rest of my gmail accounts, but is there not an easy way to export/import the preferences?
I believe for firefox you can just copy/paste some files to keep the address book and preferences. I'll check that right now.
