Need help on gFTP

I am trying to upload my web site to my apache server but erytime a use gFTP and i add the ip , port and user name...

i try to contect but its show up this error>(Transfer Files: This feature is not available using this protocol)

how can i fix this problem...

in processes (System>Services) is vsftp checked and running. Also there is a vsftp config file you should check out to make sure the settings are ok (by default root cannot use vsftp). I use guarddog firewall-I have to enable ftp transfers there also. If you use iptables, I think ftp uses port 21....that should not be blocked.
