Like an IDIOT !!

Like an idiot I deleted the menu at the top of the Redhat Fedora new installation. Now I can't do anything that this menu controls. I assume there is a way to fix this stupid mistake, but I am to new to RedHat to know it.
Can anyone help ????? Remember you are talking to an idiot !!!

thanks

Rob

Code:

Then logout and log back in.

I have tried to bring up any toolbar --- but none appears !!! I will save your solution and try and search the files for a toolbar.

Thanks for reply

More precisely it goes like this:

Right click on the toolbar and then clcik "Add to panel", highlight "Main Menu" click the button at the bottom that says "Add". Main menu should show up in the toolbar. Right click on the menu and select "Move" and move it to your desired position on the toolbar. Right click on it again and select "Lock To Panel" so it doesn't get displaced by another icon or applet. Done.

Once that's done click on the main menu and browse to "Desktop>Help>Desktop>User Guide" and give it a read. Answers a lot of questions about basic usage of GNOME. It's also on the GNOME project's web site (in case you ever lose your menu again )

Cheers!

Then you can drag it to the bottom, (so it isn't annoying,) and adjust the fatness by going right-click - Properties - Size = 24px.

The '&' is used to run a process in the background. Probably not necessary in this case, but I thought it was a safe bet anyway.

To clarify the two methods being discussed in this thread. The method I spoke of restores the entire panel if you accidently removed it. The other method works for restoring the 'Menu' button - the Applications, Places, Desktop menu ON the panel.

Thanks to all !!!!

I did read the help file -------and found that both jtang613 and mRcOLd are correct. I tried it both ways and both worked.
I guess that is the way I learn -----by making Dumb mistakes.

Again, thank you very much for helping me out ot the hole !!!
