Strange problem on host resolving.

Hi Guys,

My setup is FC3.

I noticed recently that my box is unable anymore to resolve ip by hostname. Either commands like yum, ping or functions in php, cgi scripts which use adress translations, can't translate anymore hostname into ip. Is it something about dns-client or where I should look into to fix it? Thanks for any ideas in advance.

Look in /etc/resolv.conf. You need to have nameserver entries that point to your ISPs DNS servers.

If you are using DHCP to get your networking setup check the DHCP server to make sure it is providing the DNS information.

You should also check your ifcg-ethX file to make sure BOOTPROTO is set correctly.
