Smile Newbie Server Hostname / IP question

Hello all, I recently installed FC4 and got it all set up. During the install, I used the DHCP default for setting up the server, as I am new to the server thing and did not wish to have an incorrect tcp / ip be what I was trouble shooting for hours, while trying to get my webserver going. Anyhow, all is up and running, user's can see my server via the IP address /folder. Now, I need to configure it properly. Can you please help me with the following? :

Keep in mind, the server that I am trying to set up is behind a router, box ip 10.1.10.10.

Where do I change the settings from dhcp to static (in fedora)?

What exacly would my hostname be ? (In the tutorials that I have found, it says server1.example.com, this confuses me. Do I just give it some arbitrary name + domain.com? and will it not be able to resolve because bind isn't setup ?)

I can figure out my gateway, but the primary and secondary dns ? ( From my router config? and will this setting come into play when I go to set up bind ?)

Please help !

Thanks !

System Settings > Network > Then the properties of your network connection.

You can give it some arbitrary name if you want, being that its a local 10.x.x.x, you could always modify the hosts file on the client-end to resolve that arbitrary name to your local ip.

Or, you could just leave it as an ip, which is the way to go imho.

And once you get to DNS & BIND.... youre venturing into some mildly complicated territory I'd recommend O'Reilly's DNS & BIND actually, its a great book, and will give you a better understanding of the setup.
