You need a paid hotmail account for POP and IMAP. Details at their help pages.

As for the mailing lists, which one? Usually it has a web page with instructions.

I believe gmail allows you to access it using pop3 which can be setup in evolution. If you need a gmail account let me know.

I have yet to be able to setup evolution with gmail correctly. Others have said it is possible and I have followed a multitude of tutorials, FAQ's, and advice and cannot setup evolution to access gmail accounts. I don't think it's possible.

From what I can tell should be able to setup a pop account with gmail using pop.gmail.com for incoming server and smtp.gmail.com for the outgoing server. You do need to enable SSL and specify to use authentication in the setup.

I just set this up and pulled email from my gmail account into evolution.

So it is doable. I skimmed the help in my gmail account to get the information needed to set this up.

Well, it doesn't work for me. Maybe my freshly updated copy of Evolution on FC4 is broken.
