Low Frame Rates

Hey Everyone!

As you know im slowly making the switch to linux, and so far so good! Currently im experiancing a problem with my graphics card, in windows i can run doom 3 on full graphics and it runs a treat. But if i run GLMatrix screensaver i achieve 5 FPS, now i have an ATI x800 Graphics card with the linux drivers installed, is there anyway to help improve my FPS rate?
