about my real player and xmms player...

I was wondering why does my real player in my fc3 is lagging while playing? somemore i have sound problem when i was playing mp3 with xmmx player in my KDE, however i have no problem in GNOME. is that my sound card driver problem or the plugin problem?? thanks...
