FC3 on a Gateway Profile 2-Installs fine but....

I successfully installed FC3 on an old Gateway Profile 2 -All went well,and all goes well until about minute or so after login and the desktop displays....The video hoses 3 horizontal lines on on a blk backgound...bios version is from 1999 w/no apparent upgrade...Any ideas why or where i need to look or wahts causing it? Googln' hasn't given me what i'm looking for.....
