Loud screaching noise on boot from origial iMac G3

Hi, I'm new to Linux, I've just installed FC4 on a orginal iMac G4 (Trayloader model). When it booted up after the install is started making this loud screaching noise out the speaker and it wouldn't stop until I shutdown. Anyone know how to fix this?

an unhelpful comments would have been like... buy a real computer or get a pair of earplugs.

is there like an option to disable the internal speaker or not?

other thing to check out is bugzilla to see if anyone else has had the same problem

Hmm maybe this is a feadback loop? try opening alsamixer and muting the master control maybe?
I don't own a mac either but I think it would be fun experimenting with one.
