ipw2200 for IBM-R51 refuse to be activated

good days to everyone,

i had just load FC4 to my IBM R51 1830GA2 my wireless adapter is Intel(r) 2200BG (ipw2200)

the problem;

1. my wireless is detected, this is show in system-config-network windows, its says that the particular hardware is "ok". but i can't seems to make it up and running.

2. another things is whenever i tried to activate the particular device, or loading during startup it shows the below message;

" the device doesn't seem to be present, delay initialization....."

any help would be much appreciated,

Did u installed the firmware?
If not:
