Where's the GNOME Sound Recorder (FC4)?

I'm more than slightly confused here. The gnome-media package installed on my system does not include /usr/bin/grecord, but it does include the following files:

/usr/share/gnome-media/pixmaps/norecord.png
/usr/share/gnome-media/pixmaps/record.png
/usr/share/gnome/help/grecord
... a bunch of translations excluded here ...
/usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-cd/media-record.png
/usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-grecord.png
/usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-media/gnome-sound-recorder
/usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-media/gnome-sound-recorder/media-play.png
/usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-media/gnome-sound-recorder/media-record.png
/usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-media/gnome-sound-recorder/media-stop.png

What's going on here? Where is grecord (or gnome-sound-recorder)? The gnome-media package has a whole bunch of supporting files for it, but the program itself seems to be missing.

Okay, I read the spec file. It says:

#remove gnome-sound-recorder because it does not work

So I did a search on bugzilla.redhat.com and found:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla....cgi?id=100774

which is against FC2, and is Closed, Resolution = CURRENTRELEASE. I'm assuming that means it was fixed in the newest release of FC2. But here in FC4 it says it doesn't work...

I'm going to try to comment out the whole removal thing from the spec, rebuild the RPM and install it. I'll find out for myself if it works or not, and post back here...

Hmph. More careful searching yields this nugget:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla....cgi?id=161112

NOTABUG. So it's believed to be OK that the gnome-sound-recorder/grecord is missing.

Wonder what the deal is here?

Yup, they're right. It doesn't work. Freezes up when I click Record, and burns cpu cycles slowly but won't respond to Stop.

Guess I'll kill it and go back to Audacity.
