NVIDIA .. i got some crazy error

well when i run this"nvidia-settings" i get an error.... but it opens it up and my settings are not saved...
anyone got any info on how to fix this?

I'm guessing that you opened a terminal and did su, became root, and ran this, and got the error.

Instead of that, properly configure sudo to give you permissions and run the file.

Search here if you don't know how to use sudo

That's not true.
Just need to remove hostname strings from that file and it loads perfectly. One can remove them for example with this command:

sed -i 's/^'`hostname`'//g' .nvidia-settings-rc
