fedora and Realplayer

I can't get " in any way" Realplayer installed or playing correctly under fedora 1 core:

What I want, is just listening some "real" radios under my modem connection-
as I failed any time->I welcome your precious help.

1-fedora c1+mplayer rpms with apt installation- I add and install the "mplayer-codecs-extralite-1.0-1" rpm from the mplayer site and install it

=> I failed to activate any "real format" radio with this player

2- I install "openmotif21-2.1.30-8" and "RealPlayer9-9.0.7.151-6.fdr.0" and I failed to play real streams correctly -sometimes it is running normally but disappear suddenly after 10 or 15 minutes of playing-?

I wait your advise, thanks

recently I have been using the Helix community player

It is pretty barebones right now, but seems to handle real audio and video without problems. You can download it from here.

https://player.helixcommunity.org/2003/final/MS1ReleaseNotes.html

I must warn you that you have to create an account and agree to their license, which says that you won't redistribute it or use it to make any money ( basically, I am not a lawyer and would suggest you read the agreement for yourself).

Other than that I have had good success using it. Hope it works out for you.

Note: I have made the alpha realone player for linux work and can give you instructions, but I have found this players is more stable.

Re: fedora and Realplayer

I used the RealOne Player available from 'uk.real.com' without a bit of truble on FC1.

Good luck.

I installed Helixplayer and I am not using RealPlayer anymore....I can hear the vocal announcement on that site, so basically the plugin should work.
But I'm afraid that site doesn't work very well with mozilla. It is really crap, I can't test it any further. Helixplayer/ RealPlayer works like a charm though...

Good luck !!
