Mouse freezes

once in a while my mouse just freezes and i cant move nor click anymore.
keyboard is not affected!

the freeze meanwhile appeared sometimes, when i have just booted, started X and i click "Network" to start the Network-Config-Gui, and then when i activate my internet connection, mouse freezes!

what can this be ??

if this is a USB mouse i have the same problem.

I changed mine to a PS/2 model and it works perfectly.

Or Try using a ps/2 adaptor for that mouse.

I have this problem on Fedora 17 on an Acer Laptop, the mouse is the touchpad
The scroll continues to work
the mouse cursor just freezes
How is the mouse daemon in Gnome restarted?
I checked dmesg etc did not find an entry for the mouse
