Great Forums

Hey all this is my first post

i just want to say that these forums are great.

FC4 was getting very frustrating for me because everything was running great in FC3 and only some things were working in FC4. when i found my way to these forums all my solutions were solved

keep up the great job all

Hmmm...nice words but meaningless.
This forum is far far away from ideal! Sure it has its pluses but also lots of minuses. Also FC is not perfect but in my opinion it's good.

Other way around for me...

FC3 gave me big issues.
I heard the upgrade tredmill is causing a little bit of pain for previous users though.
I think a lot of good things have came out of FC lately.

I have yet to see a better forum

I love this place

And I love FC, nothing is impossible in it (except maybe modem config, but I can live)

Nothing is impossible....
How many wireless pcmcia card for 802.11g standard are supported by FC?
Could you bring to work Kylix under FC?
...
...
...
So many stuff are nearly impossible And you should spend so much time for bringing smth to work.
I like FC but it's sad to realise these things.

Want an integrated wireless device supported under Linux, tough break... 60-80% are incompatible in 100% of ways.

Of course there are:

Prism54 based devices
Aironets
etc etc

He-he....prism54 is a very sad story. SMC cards but only ver1 and ver2 but they are out of stock. But ver3 is not supported by prism54.
Aironets are also not going that well. My point is it's very difficault to find a pcmcia wireless card of G standard. Only 5% are supported And this support are not that good. I can coufigurate it but 95% of beginners can not. Here we are.

No, SMC version 2 must be used with ndiswrapper, I never heard of a version 3.
