how do I make gthumb default jpeg viewer?

Hello,
I really like gthumb but whenever I double click on a jpeg from Nautilus, Gimp is selected. I know how to manually select gthumb as the application for a given jpeg, but as soon as I select a different jpeg it comes up in Gimp.

your help is mucho appreciated

Right click on a .jpeg image and go to "Open With" tab and set gThumb as default application
