For a company business, managing important data, we have ran into the error when adding users graphically and through the terminal:
The user database cannot be read.
The problem is most likely caused by a mismath in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. The program will now exit.
The program does exit, not allowing me to manage the users.
I've tried:
- Looking at the files side by side (which seems useless. What's the difference. It's all encrypted.)
- deleting a users home directory on /home/$username$
I don't mean to sound negative on a Fedora Forum, but the comapny has threatened to trash Fedora if the problem is not corrected! I'm a Fedora fan, and brought Fedora to the comapny. Please let me keep it that way.
Any help would be great!
