Hi.
I use up2date to receive new package updates and once it found a new kernel update. It automatically updated everything so it was all set to reboot into the new kernel. The only thing was that when the kernel was trying to initialize cups, the printing service, it froze there. I had to pull the power and reboot into interactive mode and tell it to not initialize cups. Since there have been numerous kernel updates and I have feared to install them all because I don't want to have to pull the plug again! Reverting back to the old kernel (2.6.9-1.667) works fine, but all the newer kernels fail to load cups.
Am I missing anything but not updating the kernel? Fedora still seems to run fine. If it's not completely necessary, then I guess I don't need a new one. But if it is, then how can I fix this problem? I have tried modifying what initializes at boot time, but it has failed.
Thanks in advance!
