Exclamation Proftpd user accounts

I have a user (billy) who can ssh into my server. I have setup several symbolic links of directories that he has access to.

When he tries to connect with FTP (proftpd is the server), it won't let him change to the symbolic link directories.

Can anyone give me a tip on how to get around this?
