Unhappy Burned CD won't mount.

Okay so I had a few files that I wanted to save before I installed FC4 (which I am currently running) so I tar.gz'd them and burned them to a cd using cdrecord. everything worked fine no errors when I mounted the cd after my burn it went great I saw the file and life was good...until I installed FC4.

Now I get:

Mount error

Unable to mount the selected volume.

mount: I could not determine the filesystem type, and none was specified

I'm not sure what I did wrong while burning my cd. I need the files and I can't redownload many of them...Help!

you need to select a fs when mounting it, it sounds like.

man mount

mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom (or whatever your cdrom is)

okay so I tried to mount the cdrom making sure that the file system was selected...however I get the message

wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom...

I then chech out the dmesg and it says "unable to indetify cd-rom format

Any other Ideas?
