Question RPM rebuilddb issue in FC4

Hi,

I just upgraded my FC3 via FC4 DVD. All seems to work fine but rpm not.

this is the output:

[root@toth davide]# rpm --rebuilddb
rpmdb: Program version 4.3 doesn't match environment version
error: db4 error(-30974) from dbenv->open: DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatch
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - (-30974)

any clue to rebuild old version of db with new one??

Thanx in advance!

Dav

I also have this problem, but I did not upgrade to FC4, I merely did a system update in the past. I used nothing but Synaptic, but the rpmdb still managed to **** itself. Stupid computer! There must be a command to rebuild the RPM database... anyone know what it is?

I assume you mean beside the above mentioned " rpm --rebuilddb"

You could try "rpm --initdb".
